Apollo Hotel had a successful fundraising year in 2017 supporting local causes, and kicked off 2018 as they mean to go on by hosting a charity gig on Saturday 13th January – featuring popular Blondie tribute act Atomic Rapture.
The event was organised by Basingstoke-based company Centerprise International to raise money for local cancer treatment centre, Ark, as well as Help for Heroes.
120 music fans gathered for a night of top-notch pop-punk new wave, a few drinks and a curry. Atomic Rapture performed Blondie classics such as ‘One way or another’ and ‘Dreaming’ and raised funds to the fantastic tune of around £2,600.
Paul Fearon, General Manager at Apollo Hotel, comments:
“Atomic Rapture are brilliant! Not only did every track in their set go down a storm, the proceeds from the night are going to help two very important charities. Apollo Hotel is always eager to support those in need by providing our space and services for fundraising events like this one.”
David Taylor of Centerprise (and drummer for Atomic Rapture) says:
“I am delighted with the success at our most recent performance at the Apollo Hotel. I’m always proud to help raise funds on behalf of Centerprise for charities Ark Cancer Centre and Help for Heroes. Saturday was a great night and it was a pleasure to see my fellow band members and colleagues enjoy the evening. We raised just over £2,600 and hopefully plan to do a similar event at The Apollo again later in the year.”
